Managing Director - SELECT
Alan has worked in the construction industry for over 40 years. He joined SELECT, Scotland’s largest trade association, in 2013, becoming Managing Director in 2018. Before that he had worked for SNIPEF, the plumbing federation for 27 years.
Alan is also the Director of the Scottish Joint Industry Board for the electrical industry and a trustee of The Scottish Electrical Charitable Trust, the body which acts as the Managing Agent for the training of all apprentices in the sector.
Alan is the current chair of the Construction Industry Collective Voice (CICV) which he helped establish in March 2020. The CICV is a collective of nearly 30 trade and professional bodies aimed at bringing together the main construction trade and professional bodies which operate in Scotland, to gather intelligence, share advice and speak directly with the Scottish Government on issues affecting members.
