The Passivhaus Trust and BE-ST this week launched a new guide for Delivering Quality in the Construction and Handover of Low Energy Buildings. Lead author for the guide was Allan Smith of Morrison Construction who was supported by a group of industry experts.
The guide shares practical approaches for delivering quality on large and/or complex, high-performance projects. It reflects the collective experience of contractors who recognise that delivering quality depends on leadership and culture, not only systems and standards.
Lead author Allan Smith stated, “The guidance looks at processes and procedures, but more importantly on how to create a culture of quality in all aspects of project delivery.”
Colin Campbell, co-chair of CQIC, who was a member of the working group that supported the development of the guide, added, “it was a pleasure to support the development of this guide. It is practical document based on extensive experience of delivering quality on low energy buildings. It supports the CQIC vision for the creation of a sustainable quality culture. I would commend it to everyone involved in delivering low energy and complex buildings”
