Tue 24 Jun 2025 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Venue – Central Glasgow

The Get It Right Initiative (GIRI) and the Construction Quality Improvement Collaborative (CQIC) are holding a joint meeting to explore building safety and quality in construction following the Grenfell Tower inquiry report.

Building safety depends upon projects being briefed, designed, procured, constructed and commissioned to the required standards of compliance and quality.  The Grenfell tragedy was an extreme example of all of these areas of activity failing catastrophically.

This meeting will bring together leaders from across the public and private sectors to discuss and learn from efforts to improve construction quality and safety.

  • Hear from expert speakers about developments in error reduction and case study examples of where error reduction has contributed to improved productivity and quality.
  • Participate in interactive roundtable discussions to explore how the construction industry can improve error reduction, quality and productivity.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Stephen Garvin, Head of Building Standards Division at The Scottish Government
  • Colin Harris, Head of Quality Control at Robertson Group
  • Cliff Smith, Executive Director, The Get It Right Initiative
  • Colin Campbell, Associate Director, Scottish Futures Trust and Co-Chair, Construction Quality Improvement Collaborative
