CQIC Steering Group member Libby Heathcote has been elected as the next President of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS). Libby takes up the role at the RIAS AGM on 24 June 2026.

Libby is a Senior Associate at Reiach and Hall Architects and has worked for them for 26 years.  She has worked from Inception to completion on a large variety of projects of differing complexity and scale, procured traditionally and via Design and Build.

Libby has lectured in Practice Management and Construction Procurement for the University of Edinburgh for the last 20 years and is involved with the RIAS procurement steering group.

Libby’s first-hand experience of the quality issues that can arise through inadequate budgets, planning and communication has made her an invaluable member of the Steering Group where she has been a strong voice for the architectural profession on behalf of RIAS.
