Proactively managing and delivering projects to the required quality is a year round activity but each year, in November, we have the opportunity to raise awareness and promote best practices in quality with World Quality Week (WQW 2024). This year WQW 2024 is from 11 to 15 November. We are hearing about some great activities that organisations in the construction sector are planning to mark the week.
The Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), who promote WQW, have advised this year’s theme is “Quality: from compliance to performance”. The bedrock of quality is compliance. That means compliance with Standards, the specification and other requirements. However, as the theme suggests, quality can, and should be about more than compliance. We should all be aiming for far more than simply achieving compliance.
So, what are you doing to mark WQW 2024? It’s not too late to arrange some form of communication for those within your organisation, with your customers or stakeholders and with the wider world to say that quality matters to you and that we all need to have a new burst of energy to refocus on quality during the coming year.
